About Peptide Purity Rankings

A resource you can actually trust.

We built the resource we couldn’t find — an independent standard for research peptide vendors. When we started buying peptides, we saw how little of the market you can take at face value, and how much of the “information” online is either marketing or fear. So we made one place where quality is something you can verify, not something you’re told.

Why we started

One order that should never have passed.

Like most people, we trusted the AI results recommending the “#1” vendor. Our first order came from a vendor that provided a Certificate of Analysis (COA) showing 99.8% purity and 99.7% of the expected molecular weight. On paper, near-perfect.

We wanted to be 100% certain before injecting anything into our bodies. We sent three vials from that same order to an independent lab for HPLC and mass-spectrometry testing — the same methods used to confirm purity and identity in peer-reviewed research. Three vials, one order, one certificate. The results should have been three copies of the same thing.

They weren’t.

VIAL 01UNDER-DOSED
A third short of the labeled peptide — nowhere near the 99.7% promised.

VIAL 02WRONG COMPOUND
Not impure — a different substance entirely. Not the peptide we paid for.

Exactly the certificate’s claim — proof they could hit it, just not every vial.
The lesson

It wasn’t “this vendor is bad.” It was bigger: a certificate proves what one sample looked like on one day — not what shipped to you. Batch-to-batch and even vial-to-vial variance is real, and almost nobody was testing for it independently or writing about it honestly. That gap is the entire reason this site exists.

Our purpose

Why the research peptide market needs an independent standard.

The research-peptide market has grown far faster than the information around it. We focus on the three gaps that cost buyers the most.

01
Low-quality vendors are everywhere
Under-dosed, mislabeled, and outright fake product is common — hidden behind professional sites and copied certificates. Real verification is the only defense.
02
Good information is scarce
Most of what ranks online is affiliate copy or forum hearsay. Clear, sourced, non-hyped explanations of purity, identity, and testing are genuinely hard to find.
03
No independent standard
Buyers had no neutral reference point — no one applying the same disclosed criteria to every vendor. We built that scorecard so quality can be compared on equal terms.
What independence means here

No vendor can buy their way up this list.

Placement is never for sale. Rankings answer to our published methodology — four weighted criteria, disclosed — and nothing else. Where a vendor is missing evidence, we say so instead of guessing in their favor.

We don’t run affiliate links or take vendor sponsorships today. If we ever add promo codes to help fund independent testing, they’ll be disclosed — and, like everything else here, they will never move a score or change a rank.

01
Zero paid placement
No vendor has ever paid to be included, moved up, or shielded from a low score.
02
No sponsorships or paid links
We don’t currently run affiliate links or sponsored posts. Any future promo codes stay fully separate from scoring.
03
Evidence over marketing
Third-party COAs, HPLC purity, and consistency over time always outweigh a vendor’s own claims.
Where we stand

Not FDA-approved is a fact, not a verdict.

Research peptides are not approved by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration for human use, and they’re sold for laboratory research only. We state that plainly. But we’ve watched that single fact get stretched into blanket fear — the idea that everything in this category is dangerous, worthless, or a scam.

We reject the fear-mongering as firmly as we reject the hype. “Unapproved” describes a regulatory status; it says nothing about whether a specific vial contains what its label claims. Those are two different questions, and conflating them helps no one. The honest response isn’t panic or blind trust — it’s verification.

So our job is narrow and testable: apply the same disclosed criteria to every vendor, lean on recognized analytical standards and independent labs, and give readers the context to decide for themselves. We inform; we don’t alarm — and we don’t sell certainty that doesn’t exist.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Who we are & independence
Who is behind Peptide Purity Rankings?
We’re an independent team of research-peptide buyers who grew tired of unreliable product and unreliable information. We aren’t owned by, funded by, or operated on behalf of any peptide vendor or manufacturer.
How is the site funded?
The project is independently funded and currently runs no affiliate links or sponsored placements. We may introduce vendor promo codes in the future to help cover independent testing — if we do, they’ll be clearly disclosed and will have zero effect on any ranking or score.
What makes you “independent”?
No vendor can pay to appear, move up, or avoid a low score; our four criteria are public; and we don’t run paid placements or sponsored reviews. Independence is about who controls the ranking — and that’s the methodology, never a vendor relationship.
Do you accept free product or sponsored reviews?
We don’t publish sponsored or paid reviews, and receiving a sample never guarantees coverage or a higher score. Anything tested is judged against the same criteria as everything else.
How we evaluate vendors
How is this different from other “best vendor” lists?
Most lists rank by commission or popularity. We apply the same four disclosed criteria — lab verification, analytical quality, transparency, and value — to every vendor, weight them openly, and tie each score to a source. Claims we can’t verify don’t help the score.
Can I just trust a vendor’s own Certificate of Analysis?
A COA is useful but limited: it reflects one sample at one point in time, and it can be outdated, cherry-picked, or copied. Our founding test found three vials from a single “99.8%” order ranging from a wrong compound to a perfect match. Independent, batch-specific verification is what closes that gap.
Which lab tests actually matter?
HPLC (purity) and mass spectrometry (identity) are the foundation — but they aren’t everything. For anything going into your body, endotoxin levels, heavy-metal contamination, sterility, and residual solvents matter too. A high HPLC number on a vial that fails an endotoxin or sterility check is still a problem. Be informed about exactly what you’re putting in your body — look for the full panel, not just a purity percentage.
How often do rankings change?
Composite scores are reviewed each quarter, and sooner when a vendor publishes new batch testing or when independent results change the picture. When evidence shifts, the ranking shifts with it.
Legality & responsible use
Are research peptides legal or FDA-approved?
They’re not approved by the FDA for human use, and status varies by compound and jurisdiction. As we explain in Where we stand, “unapproved” is a regulatory status — it doesn’t tell you whether a given vial contains what its label claims. We share educational information, including practical dosing and usage context, so you can be fully informed. None of it is medical advice: do your own research, and understand that any use is entirely at your own risk.
Do you provide dosing or usage guidance?
Where it’s helpful, yes — we include practical, educational context on how compounds are typically handled and dosed in research settings. Treat it as a starting point for your own research, not a prescription. It isn’t medical advice, and you’re responsible for your own decisions and risk.
Is anything on this site medical advice?
No. Everything here is educational and informational — not medical, legal, or professional advice, and not a substitute for a qualified healthcare provider. Do your own research and proceed at your own risk.
How can I get the most reliable product?
Favor vendors with recent, batch-specific third-party testing, verify the COA matches your lot, and — where it matters — look beyond purity to sterility and contamination testing. Our vendor guide walks through the full checklist.
